HOW RUSH WORKS:

Why we rush:

Phi Kappa Psi, like any organization, is only as good as its members. We strive for excellence, and we set our sights high, knowing that as the fraternity improves, so do the lives of its members.

For our fraternity to thrive, we must recruit new members, both to replace those who have graduated and to further increase our overall quality. Every semester, we actively seek out men whose qualities would complement our own, hoping that over time, each member will meet his potential and play an active role in the progression of our chapter.

Why should you rush?

Not everyone is meant to be a Phi Psi. Maybe your interests don't match ours; maybe your personality wouldn't mesh well. However, there is a good chance that you would be a great member. The point is, there is no way of knowing what the case is until you rush. Rushing is not a commitment, it is an investigation, an opportunity for us to meet and find out how you would fit with us.

If you are the sort of man who would indeed be a great Phi Psi, the benefits of joining are boundless. Your big brother will let you learn from his mistakes, helping you prevent too many of your own. Your pledge brothers, and the fraternity as a whole, will provide a support network for you that is unique to the fraternity life. In our desire to help you become an active member of the university, we will cultivate your leadership skills, provide regular opportunities for service, and stress the importance of scholarship.

This can only happen if you rush us.

How exactly does rush work?

Our calendar of events, available here, is designed to allow you to interact with the brothers while doing something fun. Call for a ride, or show up wherever the event is taking place. Then, all you have to do is interact with the brothers. We.re eager to find out what sort of Phi Psi you would be, as much as we.re eager to eat hamburgers, play poker, and do the other things arranged for these two weeks.

After two weeks, you may be invited to join. If you choose to do so, you will go through an eight week pledge process, during which we introduce you to life as a Phi Psi and confirm that you would be a good fit in our fraternity. At the end of these eight weeks, you will be initiated into Phi Kappa Psi.

Of course, this whole process starts with a phone call.
